Our company headquarters and its history
"Reinhards Dorf" was founded - on platt Renekentorp - in 1240. It was first mentioned in 1344 and has belonged to Berlin since 1397. In the course of industrialization, the Reinickendorf district expanded into an important industrial area. The building in today's street Alt-Reinickendorf 25-27, our company headquarters, was built in 1898/99 by the architect R. Hoffmann.
It was originally a screw factory. The company was the first industrial branch in the Reinickendorf district. It is a preserved example of a multi-storey factory in an ornamental brick construction. Hoffmann built a three-storey three-wing factory in Prussian brick architecture, linked to the Berlin court industry. The chimney stands in front of the gable wall of the middle house, the ground floor is supported by two rows of cast-iron columns, and Prussian folder covers are built into the upper floors. From 1913 the company Prometheus Maschinenfabrik was initially a tenant and later the owner of the building. In 1930 she acquired the adjoining property, Alt-Reinickendorf 23/24, and built her administration building on it.
Today it is an industrial yard with a wide variety of uses - glazing, Turkish bath and training center. After the Second World War, the Stolzenberg company moved into our building. She is known for the invention of the first flat file. In the Alt-Reinickendorf 26 building, erected in 1938, the mosaic workshops for the disabled have been located since 1987. The Stolzenberg company worked closely with the workshops for the disabled and had some of its loose-leaf binders produced in their workshops. There was even a connection between the two companies on the first floor.
From the end of the 1990s, after the Stolzenberg company moved out, the building began to fall into disrepair and was ultimately only "used" by the village youth. In 2008 Lohmann & Birkner Health Care Consulting GmbH acquired the building. With the help of the European Regional Development Fund, we were able to completely restore the factory building, which is now a listed building. It has been the headquarters of our company since 2011.
